This lecture discusses the six week period between the reading of the Torah portions of Shemot through Mishpatim. Our Sages teach us that this period of time corresponding to our reading about the Exodus from Egypt is as condusive for Teshuva (repentance) as are the ten days between Rosh HaShana and Yom Kippur. This time is especially auspicious for repentance of sins of a sexual nature that blemish the holy covenant. This lecture outlines the basic concepts of teshuva and fasting, as well as the specific traditions of this six week period, including the Taanit Dibbur (Fast from Speech). Practical advise about proper sexual conduct is given throughout the lecture.
