Zones 4-9; Light Shade to Shade; Moist Soil; Ht. 8-14 in.

The blooms on this plant are spectatular and look like tiny purple umbrellas torn inside out. The Shooting Star likes to be moist in the spring, when it is setting out new growth. They are spring ephemerals so they will go dormant and decline in the summer heat. It takes a while to establish, but once it does, it will be fairly hardy.
