How to care for the hooves of the work horse, rather than the show horse (no Stotch bottoms here), as demonstrated by Certified Journeyman Farrier Michael Wildenstein, co-author of Draft Horses, an Owner's Manual (also on ebay) and Resident Farrier at Cornell University, who is well known for his wonderful farriery seminars and clinics. It's easy to see why, as he carefully demonstrates in this video how to pull a shoe, trim the hoof, shape a shoe, and nail it on. He also shows what to do when your horse throws a shoe and breaks the hoof wall.

Some basic forgework is demonstrated, but the emphasis is, as it should be, on proper trimming of the hoof. Scenes of draft horses at work in the field and running through a field for pure pleasure make this instructional tape entertaining as well as informative.
